ZOO Heidelberg

Opened in 1934, the Heidelberg Zoo is now a very modern zoo that offers its animals plenty of space and habitats adapted to nature. You can expect to see over 2500 animals and over 150 species from all parts of the world. In addition to visitor favorites such as elephants, big cats and monkeys, the Heidelberg Zoo is also home to rare and endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger, which is one of the rarest tiger species.
